"The Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies was established in the College of Liberal Arts in 1997 as a resource for teaching and informing the public about the Holcoaust and Contemporary genocide. Days and hours open to public: Monday through Friday 9-4 or by appointment. As a resource center, it's focus is: for mobilizing University resources in the Twin Cities with outreach capability to pre-college teachers and other organizations. It works on campus with Center for Austrian Studies, Center for European Studies, Center for Bioethics, Departments of German, History and Sociology, School of Law, Minnesota International Center, Art and Art History, Center for Jewish Studies in the Department of Classical and Near Eastern Studies, Center for Advanced Feminist Studies. CHGS works in conjunction with a number of off-campus organizations: Jewish Christian Learning Center of University of Saint Thomas, Gustavus Adolphus College, St. Cloud State University, Saint Mary's College of Winona, American Swedish Institute, Jewish Community Relations Council for Minnesota and the Dakotas, Minneapolis Jewish Federation, United Jewish Fund and Council of Saint Paul, Armenian Cultural Organization of Minnesota, Center for Victims of Torture, Minnesota Council for Social Sciences as well as as pre-college schools in the State of Minnesota. It has been involved in curriculum development and for various theaters and museums in Minnesota, including The Guthrie Theater, Minneapolis Institute ofFine Arts, Basilica of St. Mary's, Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, and "In the Heart of the Beast Puppet and mask Theatre."
