The Louis Herman Israel Experience Fund provides incentive grants for Minneapolis area teens age 15-18 to participate in Israel programs of six weeks or longer. Students who have completed confirmation or continued their Jewish studies through the 10th grade are eligible for $1,000 toward a qualifying Israel Experience. Students who have continued their involvement in a Jewish youth group are eligible for $500.
Grant applications are due each year at the end of February. The Louis Herman Incentive Grant is not based on need and may be combined with other funding resources.
During the year, grant recipients must agree to participate in three programs planned by the Minneapolis Jewish Federation. These programs will build on the excitement of the Israel Experience by providing students the opportunity to share their experiences, join in community service projects and explore Jewish college connections.
