Summer in Minnesota vs. Summer in Israel - by Noga Shavit

It is my very first summer in Minnesota, so I might be wrong, but, here are a few early observations:

*Unlike Minnesota, summer in Israel isn’t a season; it’s an ongoing existence and state of mind, occasionally interrupted by phenomena such as rain and cool temperatures;

*Unlike Minnesota, summers in Israel aren’t characterized by extensive roadblocks;

*Unlike Minnesota, it never rains in Israel in the summer but it is often very HOT in the “winter”;

*Unlike Minnesota, when it’s dead hot in Israel all we want to do it is stay in with the AC working full power.

*Unlike Minnesota, during our long summers in Israel we long for the winter to return.
