We're getting together to make challah, enjoy each other's company and savor the aroma of bread baking in our homes

This year, we are excited to learn from Sue Lund

Sue Lund, also known as “The Challah Mama,” recently made and distributed her challah from home during the pandemic as a fundraiser to support MAZON: A Jewish Response to Hunger. Sue donated over $3,000 to MAZON, from the sales. Sue is a past president and longtime member of Mount Zion Temple. She is a professional photographer and lives in Lakeville with her husband, Eric. As empty nesters now, they are thrilled that their children decided to remain and work in the Twin Cities area so that they are only a challah away. Sue’s passion in life is to spread joy and love, including her love of challah and Shabbat.

OUR SPECIAL GUESTS

We are also excited to welcome Rabbi Rachel Rubenstein of Temple of Aaron who will join us to discuss the beautiful symbolism and meaning around making challah and its significance on Shabbat. St. Paul community shaliach, Hadar Pe'er, will talk about Shabbat traditions in Israel and his own experiences as an expert challah baker!
