Grants & Scholarships

At the St. Paul Jewish Federation, we believe everyone should be able to connect and thrive within our community. To make Jewish experiences more accessible, we offer grants and scholarships for various needs. Whether it's for summer camp, college, Jewish education, or programs for children with special needs, our financial assistance ensures that all families can participate fully in the vibrant Jewish life of St. Paul. We are here to help you feel welcome, supported, and excited to be part of our community.

Goldberger Family Endowment Fund for Children with Special Needs

The Goldberger Family Endowment This fund provides financial support for Jewish families in Greater St. Paul whose children (age 12 months to 18 years) are medically diagnosed with developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, or special healthcare needs. Fund distributions are based on family needs and income. Families may apply for financial assistance for the following types of programs and services (for example):

  • Jewish Educational Programs at St. Paul Beneficiary Agencies and Synagogues
  • Recreational Programs
  • Adaptive Equipment
  • Respite Care
  • Inclusive Specialty Camps

St. Paul Jewish Federation's Camp Scholarships

The St. Paul Jewish Federation's camp scholarship program is designed to assist families with funds for both day camp and overnight camp. Summer camp is an important rite of passage for most Jewish kids to connect with their roots and community members in a secure, caring, and fun setting. Kids and young adults who had transformative Jewish camp experiences turn into adults who are more likely to cherish their Jewish heritage, actively support Jewish causes, and take on leadership roles within their communities.

We have made the following changes to the way that we process applications for camp scholarships:

  • Day camps are now eligible for scholarships
  • Awards are entirely need-based
  • Scholarships are intended for local (MN and WI) camps only; if you have extenuating circumstances you may apply for a waiver on our new form

This year's application will open on January 14, 2025, and close on March 31, 2025. Click the button below to make an account and fill out the form. Please be sure to make the account in your own name - not your child's name.

One Happy Camper

We are excited to team up with One Happy Camper in St. Paul! One Happy Camper is a partnership between the Foundation for Jewish Camp and Jewish communities across North America.

Your child could qualify for up to $1,000 off your camper’s first summer.

The St. Paul Jewish Federation is partnering with The Foundation for Jewish Camp’s One Happy Camper to provide grants for first-year Jewish overnight campers. Grants are first come, first served, NOT based on financial need.

To qualify for the One Happy Camper grant, your child must:

  • Attend Jewish overnight camp as a first-time camper next summer
  • Sign up for a minimum session of 12 days*
  • Identify as Jewish and live in greater St. Paul

*If your child meets the requirements above, they may qualify for a $1,000 grant if attending camp for at least 19 consecutive days or a $700 grant if attending for 12-18 days. Please note that campers who participate in Jewish day school or yeshiva are ineligible. But you can apply for Federation summer camp scholarships.

How it works:

  1. Register with one of the approved overnight camps.
  2. Fill out an application on the One Happy Camper website. One Happy Camper will forward your application to us.
  3. St. Paul Jewish Federation will then process your application and inform you of your grant status.
