Supporting Israel and the World
Political instability in in the Middle East causes undue stress on the Israeli economy. It's particularly difficult for new immigrants and Ethiopian-Israelis to find work. Elderly Jews in the former Soviet Union face crippling poverty.
St. Paul Jewish Federation helps:
- Nearly one-third of our annual fundraising campaign goes to humanitarian and Jewish identity-building programs in Israel and 65 other countries.
- Israel's youngest Ethiopian olim (immigrants) get help through a summer camp designated to close educational and cognitive gaps.
- 250,000 people every day in the former Soviet Union receive urgently needed medications, home health care, winter relief and Jewish social activities.
- Jewish children in poverty get warm clothing, medicine and vitamins to ensure their health and ability to concentrate and learn.
