What is a "Mission"?

It is an exciting spiritual, historical and personal adventure to the land of Israel — the land of soul and vitality. It is an opportunity to meet the People of Israel — to talk to new immigrants on a one-to-one basis, to ask questions and to share ideas with new Israeli friends.

Missions are for people of all ages and all interests — they are an opportunity for families to spend time with one another, for singles to meet, for scuba divers to pursue their love of the sea — all within the context of 4,000 years of Jewish history.

Missions sponsored by the Jewish Federation of Greater St. Paul or United Jewish Communities (our umbrella organization) are the Jewish world's greatest catalyst for bringing Jews to Israel. As our mission participant base increases, so does our partnership with the Israeli people.

On a Mission you will visit innovative programs. You will meet the people who benefit from the love and contributions of American Jews.
